In our previous post Jim Carrey's inspiring success story we discovered the problems that Jim and his family faced. What was his life before he was a super star. In this post we will discover more interesting and unknown facts about him and how he covered his journey to be a super star.

Despite of all the hard circumstances that he faced the only thing he knew was that he can make people laugh. He remembered that when his mother was suffering from a disease and depression he always made efforts to make her mother laugh with his funny face or by his crazy moves.

Carrey and his family experienced poverty because of which they have to work as security guard and janitors and this made Carrey really angry. Even though his parent's supported him a lot. Financial crisis  made it difficult for his family to support Carrey's ambitions.

Carrey's impersonations bombed and this gave him doubts about his capabilities as a professional entertainer. After a period of time the financial problems were resolved and they shifted to a new home with more domestic stability. And now Carrey returned to the stage with more confidence then before and with more polished acts. In a very short period he went from open-mic night to paid shows and he built a good reputation.

Soon he was noticed by comedian Rodney Dangerfield, who signed him to open his tour performances. Carrey shifted to Las Vegas. Soon Carrey decided to move to Hollywood where he began to perform at The Comedy Store. He also appeared on the television stand-up show.

While he was struggling he wrote a $10 million check to himself. When asked about the cheque Carrey smiled and said "Yes, I wrote myself a cheque of $10 millions, for acting services rendered, and I gave myself 5 years. And I dated it Thanks Giving 1995. And I put it in my wallet and I kept it deteriorating and deteriorating. And just before 1995 I found out that I was going to make $10 million on Dumb And Dumber.

After doing a strings of movies, his stars shined and his work was noticed when he appeared in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" in 1994. After this he also appeared in "The Mask" and "Dumb And Dumber" in the same year. Dumb And Dumber was a commercial success. He also received his first Golden Globe Award in best actor categories for The Mask.

From that day he never looked back and earned tremendous success and fame. And all he did was that he always believed in himself. He believed that it will happen and one day he will have it. He never thought that he can't do this, rather he always visualized that he will have that fame.

Jim said "I would visualize having directors interested in me and people that I respected saying that I like your work. And I would visualize things coming to me that I want. And I had nothing at that time and it just made me feel better. Visualization works if you work hard. That's the thing. You can't just visualize and go eat a sandwich."

What we learn from his visualizing theory is that Visualize that you have what you want. People are interested in your work, they like your work. We should believe that we will have it in future. And you get it when you believe. You get it when you believe you have it. And along with believing in your self, work hard to make you dreams come true. You can get nothing without moving in the direction and working towards it.

When you believe and visualize your success, it becomes much easier for you to achieve it. So visualize, let it go and work in the direction of achieving it.

Despite of the hard life Carry's father always supported him. He used to help young struggling carry to put together a stage act, driving him to Toronto to debut at comedy club yuk yuk's. Carrey said that he had learned a lot of great lessons of life from his father and the least of them is that "You can fail at what you don't want so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love."

J.K. Rowling : “Anything Is Possible. If You Have Got Enough Nerve.”

This is what Rowling believes that we all have power within us to make anything possible. All we need to is to believe in our self and our work.

J. K. Rowling is a British Novelist, Screenwriter and producer. She is best known for Her Harry Potter Book Series. The books has won numerous awards, has been translated in 73 languages, sold more than $400 Millions and has set new records in the history of book series. Harry Potter book series was also the basis for the series of film. Harry Potter series became the best-selling book series in history.

But this didn’t happened overnight or within 2-3 days. This was the result of her years of struggle and hard work. The amount of effort she had to put to be the person she is today can’t be measured. Her life was not the same 22 years back. She failed a no of times, but she was strong enough to face the difficulties.

All this started when she was just nine. She was fond of writing fantasy stories that she frequently used to read to her younger sister. In 1990 when she was on a train trip from Manchester to London, the image of a boy named Harry Potter who was attending a wizardry school formed in her mind. Soon after getting the idea she started working on her first book.

But the unfortunate death of her mother left both Rowling and her novel heavily affected. In the grief of her mother’s death she was not able work on her book. After the incidence she was diagnosed with clinical depression. She had really hard time.

In 1992 she got married, and in 1993 she was a mother of a baby girl. But unfortunately her marriage didn’t worked and she finally decided to get separated from her husband. But this was not the end, it was just the beginning of her hardships. She was jobless, all she had was an unfinished book and a beautiful daughter she has to raise as a single mother.

She moved to Edinburgh, Scotland along with her daughter. She saw herself as a failure. But she always believed that her failure was liberating and this always motivated her to write more instead of giving up. She worked on her book in the cafes while her daughter was asleep. Finally she managed to complete three chapters of what would become her first book “Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Of Stone”. Soon after completing it she sent the manuscripts off to the publishers.

Again her struggle didn’t come to end.  She submitted her book to a dozen of publisher and all the publisher rejected the book from publishing. But soon a Editor named Barry Cunningham from Bloomsbury publishing house agreed to publish her book because of his 8 years daughter who really liked the book. But Barry also suggested her to get a job for her, as she can’t make much money in children’s book.

But Rowling with strong determination, who believed herself, proved everyone wrong. After five months her books won its first award NestlĂ© Smarties Book Prize. Soon it won two more awards named British Book Award for Children's Book of the Year, and the Children's Book Award. In 1998 Scholastic Inc. won the publishing rights in an auction.

Facing numerous failures and hardship in her life but she never stopped because her only motive was to make her dream come true and to give a better life to her daughter. Despite of her failures Rowling describe her failure as “Sometimes we fall down because there is something down there we are supposed to find.”

Despite of the harsh circumstances her passion for writing never died, rather it increased more. Her failure, hard times, rejection and setbacks couldn’t stop her to make it happen. If you have a dream and passion for something don’t stop just because of the fear of failing. Don’t give up because of the tough times you are facing, just be strong enough to face it. Maybe giving it a try can result in record breaking achievements.

Arianna Huffington : "Failure Is Stepping Stone To Success"

Sara Jameel | March 13, 2018 | |Be the first to comment!

Arianna Huffington is a well known name and because of her achievements she doesn’t need an introduction. And there are a number of failures behind her immense success.

Arianna Huffington is a Greek-American Author, Syndicated Columnist, and a Businesswoman. Huffington was the editor-in-chief of “Huffington Post”, which was later acquired by AOL, in 2011. AOL made Huffington President and Editor-In-Chief of “Huffington Post” media group. But later in 2016 she decided to step down from her post, so that she can dedicate her time for her new start up, Thrive Global, that was based on health, fitness and sleeping awareness.

Her first bestseller book “The Female Women” got published in 1973, at the age of 23. But it is hard to believe that despite her first book gained massive popularity, her second book “After Reason” was refused by over 36 publications. After the rejection from almost 3 dozens of publications, it was finally accepted to be published in 1978. Instead of giving up she decided to do it again despite of the failure. She shared something that her mother taught her :

Later she wrote numerous no.of articles in the late 80s for National Review. She also wrote a biography of Maria Callas, named Maria Callas - The Women Behind The Legend in 1981. And another biography of Pablo Picasso, named Picasso – Creator and Destroyer in 1989.

Huffington was listed at 12th position in the “First-Ever List Of The Most Influential Women In Media” and 52nd position in “Most Powerful Women In The World” by Forbes. She also moved up to 42nd position in The Guardian’s top 100 media list.

Way of success is full of struggle, obstruction and failure. The person who always shows the courage to keep moving on, despite of the failure, is already a conqueror, as he is far more ahead then the one who decided to give up. Be fearless, learn from your mistakes, keep going on even after failing a no.of times and overcome obstacles of failure, is what we learn from Arianna Huffington. And today we see her as a tremendously successful person.
